I have 5 years’ experience in research, development, and implementation of digital interventions for mental health. I spent 3 years working with the leader in digital mental health programmes, the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression (CRUfAD). CRUfAD is a not-for-profit organization based at UNSW at St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney, and is a World Health Organization collaborating centre. While there, I co-authored and published two papers in the field digital mental health treatments. At CRUfAD I learned the value of thorough evaluation, clinical processes, and established a network of researchers and clinical professionals.
For the last 2 years I have acted as the health service manager for Hello Sunday Morning (HSM), a health promotion organization aiming to improve Australia’s relationship with alcohol. At HSM I have learned the value of effective marketing, securing funding, and the importance of good branding.
Acting as the technical founder, I have a working knowledge of C# and Unity3D, which I use to build my virtual reality prototypes.
University of New South Wales – Bachelor of Psychology with Honours
University of New England – Diploma of Project Management
I have been following the progression of virtual reality since I was a teenager. Being able to see a clear way to take this passion and apply it to my current expertise of digital mental health has made this a joy to work on. I also have strong interests in artificial intelligence and machine learning, as well as what VR can bring to the entertainment industry.
